Quick update - My mother-in-law is back in the hospital. She had congestive heart failure and is having a cardiac cath (angiogram) this morning. If you can spare some prayers and positive vibes, we would appreciate them!
How odd it is that I just bought a book last week a a local thrift store called A Setback Is a Setup for a Comeback by Willie Jolley. (autographed, nonetheless…too bad my name’s not Carol!) :)

It’s like anything else, it’s all in how you look at it.

You know me (and if you don’t yet, you will by reading more posts!)

I tend to look for the bright side in everything and search for a lesson whereas others are viewing this as “just when she was doing so well… now this.” I’m just thankful it was caught before it triggered a massive heart attack and I’m also thankful for the procedure that will allow them to see what can be done.

Of course, I care what happens, but worrying and focusing on the negative things that can happen just isn’t productive in the least. Why visualize what you don’t want to happen? It just doesn’t make sense… But yet, we as human beings, have a (very much learned) tendency to do just that…

It makes more sense to focus on what we’d like the outcome to be. If the Law of Attraction states what we focus on expands and we get back like energy, then worry just seems like it would add to the problem.

I’ve been called Pollyanna a time or two since I’ve altered my way of thinking, but I’d rather put out the good energy and vibes by seeing her coming through this with flying colors and having it help her. THEN we can focus on getting her back home…

Worry is like a cancer… It eats away at you bit by bit until you’re overrun with it. It’s a tough one to tame, but in the end, you’ll definitely be glad you did. It makes difficult times so much more easy to handle.

In his book, Willie Jolley has this poem (author unknown but submitted to him by Janice Krouskop.)

Why Worry?

There are only two things to worry about;
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about.
If you are sick, there are two things to worry about;
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about.
If you die, there are only two things to worry about;
Either you will go to Heaven or you will go to Hell.
If you go to Heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
If you go to Hell, well… why worry now! It’s too late!

So, is this a setback or a comeback? It’s all in your perception. And you own your perception. Nothing or no one can change it. It’s uniquely yours and only you can decide how you perceive something. There can be outside influences (boy, do I EVER know about those) but you ultimately choose what you choose to let in to affect your perceptions.

In this case, I choose to look at the bright side… Just call me Pollyanna. I’ve been called worse!
