For those of us in the United States, I’d like to wish you a safe and happy Independence Day!

I’m filled with gratitude that I live in such a wonderful place. I take it for granted so often, as do most people. I’m so grateful for the every day things that we all tend to take for granted.

It’s nice to have a day to reflect on how lucky we truly are.

I’ll admit I’m the first one to welcome a paid day off work, great food, friends and family, fireworks and everything else that goes along with a traditional 4th of July celebration.

It’s easy to get all wrapped up in the festivities and forget to reflect on the real reason for the holiday.

It’s all about gratitude, folks… (you’ve heard that a time or two from me, haven’t you???)

I personally have so many reasons to be grateful:

  • I’m grateful to live in this wonderful country and reap the benefits on a daily basis.
  • I have freedom of choice, unlike so many people in the world.
  • All of my basic needs are met daily.
  • I have wonderful family and friends.
  • I have a job that pays me to do what I love.
  • I always have opportunities to make changes in my life, when and if I choose.
  • And the list goes on, and on…

What are YOU grateful for in your life?

When was the last time you took stock of all of the blessings you already have?

Notice how it makes you feel when you do?

It’s amazing how it has the power to change your mood in a heartbeat.

Life seems so incredible when you really think about how fortunate you are.

I am truly grateful for everything in my life, good and bad. (I really do believe there is no “bad” since the “bad” is always an opportunity for growth.)

So, my friends, will you take a few moments to take stock of your life, show a little gratitude and see what it does for your mood?

Those around you will definitely give thanks…
