I was reading a book (It’s Up to You - A Practice to Change Your Life by Changing Your Mind) by Karen Casey (review to follow) and I saw something that really stood out to me:

God never takes from us whatever or whomever is right for us.

How simple yet profound.

They say you may read or hear something 99 times and the 100th time is what makes it stick. Sometimes it’s from a different source, stated or worded just a little differently, or just repetition that causes you to “get it.”

I’ve heard things like that quote over and over but when I read it in that book, it was as if it was in a neon flashing light, just waiting there for me. It’s things like that which make you realize you were meant to get that message at that very moment.

Cool…

I love it when that happens!

Yes, I realize that God doesn’t “take away” from us - it is just means that if something isn’t right for you, then if it doesn’t stick around, then hey, it wasn’t right for you anyway. It just reminded me of that saying:

“If you love someone, set them free; if they come back, they’re yours. If they don’t, they never were.
- Richard Bach

Funny how when you start thinking about something, all kinds of ah ha moments pop up.

When you attach yourself to an outcome, including having something or someone in your life, you really only end up inadvertently pushing that thing or person away through your actions. I’ve been known to do this a time or two and it’s no fun!

It’s much more effective to just trust that if that thing or person is right for you, then it or he/she will end up in your life.

Sounds simple, but man, oh, man, when you are looking at it from the other side it’s not so easy.

Just hang in there, trust that God knows what He’s doing and live your life by being grateful for what you ALREADY HAVE and you’ll be amazed at the blessings that start showing up in your life.
