It all starts with a decision.

If you think about it, doesn’t everything?

Even procrastination is a decision. Sometimes I’m a master decision maker. Especially where procrastination is involved. I was previously so wrapped up in trying to make everything perfect that I didn’t realize how long it had been since I’ve written. I’ve always been like that. Thank goodness for good friends and gentle nudges from readers. LOL

Ahhhhh, the curse of perfectionism.

Decide or Hide?

It’s easy to hide from situations that require you to make important decisions. But then again, you’re making a decision. The decision not to do whatever it is that could possibly move you forward.

Sometimes just stepping out in faith and making the decision, no matter what the consequences may be, is just what you need. I know it is for me. Not worrying about the outcome, just making a decision and let the chips fall where they may. If you are cursed with perfectionism, then you are always worried about not doing something correctly or to the best of your ability.

Well, sometimes you just have to say forget it and just step out of your comfort zone. Make that decision, even if it may not be the best decision. If you always wait for everything to be perfect before you take a step, then you’re living a mere portion of the life you could be.

Victim or Victor?

The first step is to decide your victim days are over.

Allow yourself to release what you have decided you no longer wish to have in your life. This can be additional weight, money problems, energy vampires (people who suck the life out of you when they’re around) etc…

When you decide you no longer need them to define yourself, you are able to simply release them and replace them with new, more empowering things. And trust me… New, empowering things are good.

You’ll be amazed at the difference you feel in your daily life when you release the old and make room for the new. And part of releasing the old is getting rid of the victim mentality. And that’s not always easy to do. Especially when you’ve been used to falling back on that when the times get tough.

You can dwell on what is not the way you like it or you can focus on what IS right with your world. The choice is yours.

How about choosing to look at life a little differently starting today? The next time you catch yourself dwelling on something that isn’t a great situation, take the time and decide to look for the gift in the situation and see what IS good about it. If you can’t find anything that’s good about the situation, then see what is good elsewhere in your life.

With practice, this will end up second nature to you and you’ll find that on a daily basis, you’ll find yourself a little happier.

And isn’t that what life’s all about?
