Motivational Musings…Finding Extraordinary in the Ordinary
| ![]() |
When I first saw the book, Giving Thanks: The Gifts of Gratitude, I was immediately drawn to it.
You know me… Anything that has the word “Gratitude” or “Thanks” in it gets my attention. Ryan’s book is beautifully laid out in three parts:
Part 1 – The Gifts of Gratitude
Part 2 – The Grace of Gratitude
Part 3 – The Acts of Gratitude
There’s a great quote at the beginning of part 1:
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion to clarity… Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
- Melody Beattie
There are amazing quotes scattered throughout the book, among wonderfully peaceful photos. After each quote, Ryan puts her own take on the quote or something closely related. She adds real life stories and it’s just a joy to read!
While I was reading this book, I had 3 people come up to me and say, “That looks like a good book.”
And you know what?
They were right…
