No matter what part of the world you live, today is a great day for reflection on what you're thankful for. Thanksgiving is a day to spend with family and sometimes friends, eating good food, enjoying the people around you that it's sometimes easy to take for granted.
It's so much more, though...
It's a day to be thankful for
everything in your life. You don't have to be thankful for everything that shows up, just be thankful overall.
Today, for example... I've got the flu. I don't have the energy to get up and go to my family's house. (maybe that will change by the time it's time to leave) I could wallow in pity but instead I choose to focus on the many blessings in my life. There are so many, I can hardly count them all.
Last night I was talking with a new friend who I've been blessed with meeting and we were talking about some of the difficulties we've both faced and how it would be so easy to just get jaded. The key to keeping your head about you just seems to be my theme of the day (every day) -
gratitude.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Gratitude works. It's the way to happiness. No matter what you're going through, there's always something to be grateful for. Finding the gift in every trial has become a way of life for me. And you know what?
It's always there...
So, today, please take stock of what you've got in your life that is a blessing and give thanks...
I'm so very grateful for all of you!
