One of my favorite places to relax and re energize is Laumeier Sculpture Park and you will quite often see me walking the nature trails, cameras in hand, savoring every moment of the beauty that is Laumeier. I will often take a book and notebook and read, write and be inspired by the surroundings. It's one of my personal guilty pleasures. (but then again, I'm the one who drives out of the way just to get better scenery) Sometimes I'm amazed at the interesting and off the wall sculptures: eyeball sculpture Yes, it's a giant eyeball. It's more than twice my height. You also find this: Red sculpture Doesn't it look like a bunch of Lincoln Logs or something? Pretty cool... I just love walking around the park and hiking the nature trails. It's one of the ways I recharge my batteries. I've always loved nature but it seems like the older I get, the more I'm into nature and the more it has healing benefits to me. It's like therapy. Nature therapy. Since I decided to get divorced and move on with my life, I've changed my outlook in many ways. I've always thought of myself as an upbeat person; however I also had that nagging, underlying feeling of worrying about everything. It was a tough thing to shake. Recently, I was reacquainted with an old friend who has taught me so much about living for the moment and savoring every individual experience. It's been such a pleasure and adventure learning from this old friend! It's amazing how much richer your life can get if you just take time to smell the proverbial roses. I've also found that I'm laughing a LOT more these days. And in doing so, my natural sense of humor has reemerged, after many years in hibernation. I'm a lot happier overall which shows in every aspect of my life. You know, life's too short to be miserable. It's also too short to worry. I'm learning these lessons a day at a time but each day is a little better than the day before. And you know what? I'm finding out that life really is good...
