I've mentioned before I'm a thrift store junkie, and just love to browse the book section. When I stopped by today, I found a book calling out to me:
(Yo Angie - Yeah, right here. C'mon over and pick me up. Yeah, that's it. A little to the left. Yep, here I am!)
Ok, so it really didn't sound like that, but the cover got my attention. The book was:
There Are No Limits: Breaking the Barriers in Personal High Performance.
I opened up the book and the sentence that jumped out at me was:
The past is mine and at this very moment I am purchasing another twenty-four hours of it.
-- Danny Cox
He talks about personal responsibility and how what we've got is in direct relation to what we've previously put out.
Sounds pretty much like the sowing and reaping stuff, huh?
He also mentioned self-imposed barriers. I've placed a few of those over the years!
The funny thing about it is they were all fear-based:
- Fear of the unknown.
- Fear of failure.
- Fear of success.
- Fear of being "found out."
- Fear of what "they" would think.
- Fear of not being good enough.
The interesting thing about it is that every time the fear was unfounded. When you live in fear, there's no room for love.
So, what type of purchase do you think you'll make when you purchase YOUR next twenty-four hours?
I suggest you make your purchase with love, not fear, and see what you get.
I guarantee it will be the best impulse buy you ever made.
