What happens to you pales in comparison to what happens THROUGH you.

Does this come as a surprise to you - Your external circumstances don’t mean a thing.

Now stay with me here.

No matter what happens to you in life, it’s all a matter of perspective. I was listening to Dr. Joe Vitale on The Power of Outrageous Marketing a while back. Joe talks about how P.T. Barnum and Mark Twain’s personal tragedies very much mirror each other, but it was the way they viewed the occurrences and the way they responded to them that made the difference.

Barnum rose to the occasion whereas Twain wallowed in his misery.

Barnum handled it with a quiet knowing that everything happens for a reason and it will all be all right. The average person couldn’t fathom losing their museum to a fire and hearing about it over breakfast and going back to eating breakfast.

The other time tradegy struck, he was giving a speech, received a telegram and went back to finish the speech as if nothing happened.

How's that for faith?

Faith is the absence of doubt and it's a very powerful thing! It can also be described as belief without evidence.

You have faith the sun will rise tomorrow, however until you actually SEE it, you don't have evidence.

You have faith the moon is there even though you can't see it every night.

It's just a quiet "knowing." And it feels good.

Very comforting.

It's easy to forget that what we focus on, we get more coming to us.

It's as if we just ordered up a big steaming pile of the same.

It's funny how we, as human beings, inherently know things aren't good for us, however we just go right on doing them anyway.

And we're supposed to be the smartest beings on the planet!

The more I learn about the power of the mind, the more I want to know!

I've been using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique - commonly known as "tapping") and TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique - stop by her site to learn more about Tapas Fleming's technique that rocks!)

Both of the methods have a way of getting to the emotional bottom (so to speak) of your problems and releases the hold they have over you.

I've used them effectively to rid myself of pain, help my allergies, lower my weight and just downright feel better! You may want to open your mind and see what that amazing 5-8 pounds you have residing in your skull can do for you!

Like anything else, at first it can seem like hogwash to you. Come on. Think about it. If it were really something that worked, wouldn't everyone be doing it?

Once again, think of the human race and what we know and what we do anyway. We know that Big Mac is loaded with fat and calories, but, man, it tastes good!

So, if you will eat something you know isn't good for you, doesn't it stand to reason that you will ignore something that could be good for you?

I'm very close with a person who could do so much to change his life but chooses to feel victimized and helpless instead.

It's easier to feel at the mercy of everyone and everything around him instead of choosing to open up to the possibility that attitude has anything to do with circumstances.

1 closed mind + negative thoughts + negative talk = more of the same negative results

I choose to join the "what if" - "why" - and "why not" movement

    What if:
  • Life really could provide the dreams in your heart?
  • Your thoughts really DO mold your reality?
  • You really ARE meant for great things>

    Why:
  • Are the beliefs I have reallytrue? How can I be sure?
  • Some people already have what I desire. Why them? What did they do differently?
  • Did I accept passed down beliefs as "the way it is? Why did I accept them as the truth?

    Why not:
  • If others have done it, why not me?
  • If others have great wealth, why not me?
  • Who says I can't have it all?

So, there you have it. How to develop a new perspective. It may not be your cup of tea, but what if it could be and you are just closed off to it?

Hmmmmm, think about that one...
