Have you ever noticed something and wondered how long it had actually been there without you even noticing it? I had an odd experience the other day. I have a van with big side view mirrors, and when I started driving the other day, something wasn't quite right. The passenger side mirror's small round mirror was directing the reflection right on the side of the door instead of beside it. At first I could tell something was not quite right but couldn't put my finger on it. It just "felt wrong." My mind started wondering, "Were those little round mirrors always on there, or did someone just put them there?" (That's it - the mirror fairy just showed up and placed them in the middle of the night...) It's funny how I never noticed them before (until one of them was focusing in the wrong direction - or "focusing on the wrong thing.") Wow... Sometimes I amaze myself with these little reminders I get handed to me in the most interesting ways... My husband says I read too much into stuff. I choose to look at it as a gift. I just say to myself, "Thank you for the reminder to get myself back on track." A simple twist of the little mirror changed my entire focus and how I saw things. It distracted me. It made me feel anxious. It made me uneasy. It made me feel like something was "out of kilter," so to speak. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. It actually happens all the time (when I'm open to it.) I find I am at my best when I'm open to receiving signs in my life. And when I'm open, boy, do they flow! I can't explain them, nor do I care to; they just ARE. Some things are better left at "just because." (Can you tell I heard that a time or two growing up?) I'll tell you all about some of my other signs another time... What signs have shown up in your life that could be interpreted with an alternate meaning? Are you open to receiving signs in unconventional ways? Have you ever thought about it? If you've ever had anything like this happen to you, I'd love to hear it!
