Motivational Musings…Finding Extraordinary in the Ordinary
| ![]() |
Let me preface this… You have seen my thoughtful side, you have seen my pensive side, and now you can personally bear witness to my humorous side. Yes, I really have one.
While some of you may find this offensive, others may laugh incessantly like I did… You see, I was raised with two older brothers and a father with the most offbeat sense of humor (we’ll talk more about him later – he was the greatest.) So, suffice it to say, I was exposed to some “different” humor.
I’ll admit it… I own not one, or even two, but THREE Monty Python movies. And yes, the Holy Grail is my favorite. (My brother used to have “NI” as his license plate if that gives you any idea of how much he liked it.)
I have many episodes of the Three Stooges on tape and can’t help but laugh at them when I see them.
And stupid, juvenile humor (such as the clip I shared above) makes me reel with laughter.
So there. I admitted it.
Some people will find this offensive, and that’s their right. Some will find it funny and laugh their heads off. Also their right. But there will be some who want to laugh so bad who won’t allow themselves the satisfaction of the laughter because “it’s not proper.”
Lighten up, will ya? Life is meant to be lived. I can’t remember who said it: “Happiness is an inside job.” I agree wholeheartedly.
So, test yourself. Do you find the clip funny? Do you find it stupid and a useless waste of your time? Do you find it offensive? I suppose it could tell you a lot about other areas of your life as well. I choose to take it for what it is…humor.
A little humor is good for the soul. And I choose to feel good.
And that, my friends, is my wish for you as well… So, sit back, relax, and prepare to watch some ridiculous (and ridiculously funny) humor. And have yourself a good, old fashioned belly laugh. Laugh like you did when you were a kid. Laugh until your cheeks are filled with tears. Laugh like you don’t have a care in the world. And then see how you feel.
My grandma always said, “Laughter is good for the soul.” And I believe she was right…

1Ummm… No belly laughing here. Sorry. Not offended, but I didn’t find it funny either. But… You are certainly a goof-ball!
